John Griddley 1

Today we started our flash tutorial sessions. I was really anticipating this as I really wanted to learn how to actually make flash work. In this session we learned about tweening. We had to create different shapes and make them move. I thought it was quite interesting being able to learn the basics, I hope the next sessions we learn something a bit better with more complexity.

Beginning of Flash.

Today we got given our new project brief for Flash. Neil showed us a few videos of the standard of stuff we would be achieving by the end of the project. I was quite impressed with some of the videos he showed us, especially the showreel from 'onedotzero,' and the style of art from shyNola, who was the director of queens of the stone age, 'go with the flow.' I was a little intimidated about how good some of the work was. But I know I'm up for a challenge... so we shall just have to see.

bringing together

I have been really busy bringing together all my pieces of work, sketchbook work and loose sheets for my hand in on Friday. I feel quietly confident because I feel that I have managed my time pretty well. I have quite a bit of annotation to do in my sketchbook and a few tweaks to the final pieces. But I know I shall be done dead on time. Again I apologize but some of the colors are wrong. (they are supposed to be orange!!)

Final amnesty crit

The work for my criticism yesterday didn't go down as well as I expected it to, there was quite a lot of criticism which I completely overlooked when creating the poster for, which I guess is a good thing. Now I have concentrated enough on imagery and layout I am going to make sure that I have the right typographic styles, so it will work with my series of posters as a whole.

Pre crit.

I am feeling pretty confident with my idea and design before the crit. tomorrow, I think that there is still room for improvement and I am looking for some constructive feedback to help me push my idea a bit more. I have finally got round to putting up a pic of my development so far: The color however is meant to be orange (i don't know why it has done that)

Placements

Today we were given our placement brief. I feel like my work load is piling up a little bit now, I know that it doesn't have to be in until the 12th May, but it has given me more to think about besides my amnesty project. I will try and find my C.V soon so that I can update it and get right onto applying for placements.

Amnesty Cont.

I found a break through with the guantanamo work the other day. I was doing a bit of research into prisons and thought it would work really well if I use a concrete wall as my background on the bus poster. I used the concrete in the lower part of the side bus to create the impression that the prisoner was imprisoned within the poster!

Holiday 2

I have realized that I am not really getting anywhere with the information graphics. So I decided to concentrate on one of the graphics I thought would work the best. I used the graphic I made of the Guantanamo prisoner to start brainstorming ideas hopefully when I get back to uni, I will get some sort of direction on where to take this idea.
