Day project

I have been working really hard to get my transcript completed ready to email to the rest of my group, I have also done some research into to my artist Anette Lenz. I'm not going to lie to you, her website sucks. Only because it is just her contact details. But I have found some interesting pieces of work she has done. Today we were put into groups to try and create a poster to promote type radio. I felt that it was quite good because we all had a good input to the final design. We received  a mixed response in the critique but overall I think our group did well.

Hamish Muir

He came to talk to us today about his work, I didn't really think much of it to be honest, as his typographic style was quite squashed and eligible in many forms which was quite frustrating. Listening to how he managed to create such complex pieces of work without a mac was quite influential and his attention to detail in trying to overcome situations. Overall I thought his talk was quite interesting and might actually put me in the mood to get some work done.

New brief

Today we recieved our new brief for the InDesign project. I feel like I was thrown in at the deep end because we were given our artists pretty much straight away and then told to transcript a whole interview. What made it easier was the fact that other people had the same artist to, so we were allowed to split it into sections. Mine ended up being about 10 minutes long.

John Griddley 5

I felt that this session was a little pointless today because we had already handed in our coursework. We were asked to work on the website that we had been creating for our flash hand in. I had pretty much got the hang of flash now, and I would be able to create a 5 page website which used buttons in know time at all. So I was just waiting for our next project to start. Overall I believe that the Griddley sessions taught us some things, but most of it was irrelevant to my final piece of work, and I really struggled to find out how to do certain things.

Final Crit.

I managed to sort out the button problem with some help from Neil so I was then able to connect up the animation so it flowed properly. The problem I was having was when i input on release got to and play I wasn't writing it to the label name, I was writing it to the scene name. I know that makes no sense to anyone  but it did to me. So then I was able to do the crit. I received some real constructive feedback which I am going to use to make the final touches to my piece of work before the hand in tomorrow. All I have to do after that is add in the sound!!
